I’m a self-taught director born in 1989. I released my first two feature films under the pseudonym Elisabeth Vogler—a name I borrowed from Ingmar Bergman. In Persona, Elisabeth Vogler is an actress who suddenly stops speaking.
In 2015, I began shooting Paris Is Us, a unique feature film that was shot over the course of four years, amidst real-life events. The film was released on Netflix in 190 countries in 2019. With Roaring 20’s, I continued this exploration of reality, imagining the camera as a thread connecting lives through a continuous one-and-a-half-hour-long sequence shot through the streets of Paris. The film was selected at Tribeca, where it received a Special Jury Mention and the award for Best Cinematography. It was released in theaters on April 27, 2022.
I went on to shoot a new feature film during the Paris Olympic Games, A Second Life, still driven by the desire to slip the camera into the crowd, as close to the characters as possible. The film will have its world premiere in international competition at the Tribeca Festival 2025 in New York.
I am also a producer (through my company 21juin cinéma) and the cinematographer of my own films.
